I Have Arrived at Fitness Ridge!

I am here! Wow, it feels weird! I woke up this morning and headed to the airport to catch the St George Shuttle. I met Janet at the baggage claim and she is SUPER nice! It was difficult to see anything because the windows were honeycomb tinted and if I tried to look through them I got motion sickness so I just stared straight ahead. While the driver was loading our luggage he pointed out something funny that I hadn't thought of.. i was carrying a suitcase (that I purchased for my son) that is completely covered in M&M's! Obviously I wasn't thinking! How bad was that going to look walking into a weight loss resort with a suitcase plastered with candy!!? needless to say we got a laugh out of the situation!

To make matters worse, when we pulled up to the resort CNBC was outside awaiting our arrival! They are filming Janet and were going to catch it all on video! SO here is Brandi on film stepping off the shuttle to Fitness Ridge with a giant candy suitcase! OMG how funny was that! The camera man even asked "what did you say?" and made me repeat myself (I was talking to Janet) I turned to him and complete with camera in my face said That I just wanted to make it clear that the suitcase was NOT filled with candy propaganda that I was smuggling in , but in fact a gift for my son..

The scenery here is absolutely breathtaking! Totally different from what I am used to, but stunning in its own way :) Its not raining, but it is a bit overcast. There is however large patches of brilliant blue sky peeking through.

The staff here seems amazing.. they are so welcoming and friendly and comfortable. For me that's very important because I'm so shy and introverted with strangers. They gave me my Work Book and name tag and my schedule for the week. I am on the Green team.

I am in room 118. I met my room mate and she is really friendly and easy going so that is also good. I think we will get along just fine :)

Here are my official starting measurements :P

Weight: 225
Chest: 45.5
Belly: 44 :(
Hip: 48.5
Thigh: 23.75
Calf:16
Body Fat % 36.6
BMI:30.5

I guess I better go step out of my box and make the effort to socialize.. a bunch of people are watcihg the Superbowl in a room.. maybe Ill make my way over there or wander aimlessly until I find Janet again..lol

I cant believe Im here!

Hi Brandi - What a surprise welcome, huh? That's so funny about the M&M suitcase, too! Isn't Katy, nice! Another great person and a great friend of mine is Marla. She's your next door neighbor and a good person. Not to mention she's funny as hell! Fiona and Jens are wonderful, too. Find them and follow their lead. They are so positive and Jens is hilarious! If you sit next to him on the bike, tease him about needing a cushion for his bum. Jim Trudeau (your neighbor on your right) will have a positive influence on your stay, too. Gosh, the list can go on and on. I really miss everyone there!

Hey Brandi! The M&M suitcase story is so classic! Sooo funny! I love funny moments like that. Hopefully it washed away some of the anxiety you were experiencing. How are you doing? I'm sure you are going through lots of mixed emotions. I'm nervous for you at the sound of this "stop sign hike". Remember with challenge comes triumph! Hikes are the best cause you can see how far you have come and when you get to the top you can marvel at all it's beauty...and the fact you did it!

I hope you are embracing your new self. Sounds like it from your Vegas story. Good for you. I am so proud. I know the old brandi may be feeling self-concious sweating like a banshee in front of so many people at the ranch. I would be ....Embrace the sweat and sticky clothes...it is your body working for you! It is a sign you are doing what you came there to do. every drop is a celebration...ok enough with the sweat haha I digress. Just remember to Believe in yourself! Not sure if you got my message before you left but I said ..the pain isn't permanent....its a journey. Keep going even when your brain says it wants to stop. Take it from someone who has fallen off a treamill before :o) surprisingly it doesn't hurt that bad.

I love the M & M story-it is amazing how alike we are. I probably WOULD have M & M's though. When I watch the biggest loser, I get all motivated, but I am sitting there eating my face off.

I am so excited to hear about your journey! I forget how long you are away for?

Look forward to reading your updates. You are a really good writer, you know-keep that in mind.

Love you!
