Well, today was full of mixed emotions :( I did OK for the most part, but had some weepy moments when I thought about my boys and my parents.. then I got excited, then I got grumpy.. what was it that made me grumpy? Let me tell you! I came alllll the way down from the usually rainy B.C to Las Vegas excited to see some sunshine! Funny thing though.. it was warmer and sunnier in B.C! That's right! Welcome to Floodsville NV! I'm afraid to say it put me in a bit of a mood.
The walk across the airport was long.. then I got on this SUPERFASTBULLETTRAINTRAM that SHOT me all the way down to the baggage claim in 3.2 seconds! Then, I went out to catch a cab to my hotel and it was a Dodge Charger! Cabs in B.C are big yellow minivans! Apparently those cars have insane legroom, I was impressed!
I got to my hotel room at the Luxor and went up the wrong side of the pyramid so I had to go all of the way back down and across the hotel and all the way back up the tower.. good prep for FR so I'm not complaining. Not anymore anyway. I was complaining while I was traipsing around with my suitcases!
I arrived at my room at 6pm and felt the "old Brandi" (who I am trying to get rid of)creep up on me.. she is such a moody cow! She was telling me that I didn't want to go outside and that I might as well stay in and soak in a bath because I am NOT about to walk miles and miles in this rain! Vegas was supposed to be fun! I did what she told me to for a few minutes then realized that would defeat the whole point of this adventure.. I'm supposed to be stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new stuff. I ended up grabbing a cab to the opposite end of the strip and walking back to my hotel.
I must admit this is a pretty cool place even in the rain! I saw a lot of great stuff and went to the M&M Store to buy some orange M&M memorabilia for my little guy. He is going to love it! I went in to peek at the Coach store and bought a really cute wallet (don't tell Mark) LOL.
The UFC fights were going on right next to my hotel so it was pretty crazy around here. I put my M&M's in my room and headed to the casino. I made 40 dollars into 300. You have got to like that!
I guess I better get to bed. I am off to the airport to catch my shuttle and meet Janet! Yay! Off to FR I go. I hope I don't have anymore breakdowns, at least for a while!

Have a safe trip north today. It was rainsville,Utah here yesterday as well. By the way if you have any of those orange M&M's lying around I can do pool tricks and you can throw them at me like I'm a seal.
PS Katie is really cool you will get along with her great.
Brandi, Going to try this comment thing again!! Glad to hear you've put on your positive face, I personally know how hard that can be at times. Hope you have a great start today & can enjoy the ride to the ridge. Dee Dee talked about Katy in her blog, college student at the ridge for the semester (7 weeks already & has lost a lot of weight there. Young, cute and hopefully alot of fun. I hope she is still around when Jerica arrives. (by the way, Jerica has a way of making any situation fun)I'm sure you will have alot of laughs together. Seems as though most of the women at the ridge are 40+, but at least they are not all as old as me!! Keep up your great posts as I will look forward to follow & encourage you through your stay. oh hun!! these photos are GORGEOUS!!! i've never been lucky enough to go to Vegas yet, one day :). Remember.. breathe it all in. I'm so happy to hear you went out and saw the area.. AND look at you, you got exercise too in the meantime.. always thinking :). Enjoy the quiet time too.. we moms rarely get it. Have a Great morning
